APPLICATION INFORMATION 


GENERAL INFORMATION: 

 

1.     Participation in the Spring Classic Invitational Tournament/Showcase is by invitation to US Club teams, USYSA and FIFA affiliated club/ league/ select/ association teams.

2.    The Spring Classic is hosted by the Texas Longhorns Soccer Club and is sanctioned by the North Texas State Soccer Association in affiliation with the United States Youth Soccer Association, the United States Soccer Federation and FIFA. See the USYSA Permission to Host form for details. All teams must be all male or all female to participate in the Spring Classic.

3.     All teams should plan to be in Dallas no later than Thursday, April 21, 2011. Preliminary games and showcase matches will begin Friday morning, April 22. All finals will take place Sunday, April 24. All matches should be completed by 4:00 PM. If weather, school closings or other incidents necessitate, local teams may begin play early.

 

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

1.     An application form must be completed in its entirety. The provided information is the major basis for acceptance decisions.

2.     The entry fee is (US) $575 U11 – U18. An application without an entry fee will not be considered. Deadline: March  24, 2011.

3.      No foreign team application will be accepted without a fax number and email address for its English-speaking contact person.

4.      Register ONLINE (www.springclassic.net) and then mail a check /money order payable to “Spring Classic” to:

5.     The application form and fee must be received no later than March 24, 2011. The Spring Classic reserves the right to close any group before the deadline. Teams are encouraged to submit an application as soon as possible. Exceptional teams will be accepted prior to the fall season conclusion, but no later than December 1.

6.      All players must be registered to the team applying for participation. (see rules)

7.      A player must be registered to only one team applying for participation. (see rules)

8.        Each applying team is limited to a roster size as set forth in the Application to Host a Tournament. The roster must be approved by the Home Association. US Club teams must provide a letter of good standing from US Club national. Five (5) guest players may be included not to exceed the total allowed provided that the guest players are approved for travel by their respective state or national association and all appropriate paperwork is completed no later than registration APRIL 21.

10.   USA club teams will also be allowed to replace players that are lost due to any USSF/USYSA programs (National, Regional, ODP, etc.) that conflict in time with the tournament dates. Written confirmation from the USSF/USYSA of any conflict in time, must be provided to the Spring Classic office. All Guest Players/Replacement Players must meet the following criteria: 1) must be approved for participation by their respective state association (USA teams) or by the provincial association of their national federation (International teams); 2) must be registered in the state or provincial association of the participating team; 3) may not be selected from any other team that is participating in the tournament, nor from any team designated as an alternate team. If a Guest/Replacement player is selected from any team which is subsequently invited to participate in the tournament, the player must return to her original team. If a Guest/Replacement player participates in a tournament match and the player’s original team is subsequently invited to participate, said player must remain with the team for which she is guest playing.

 

ACCEPTANCE PROCEDURES:

1.  The Spring Classic is a highly selective and competitive tournament; completion of the application procedure does not guarantee invitation. Only the most competitive teams making application will be selected. Teams are advised to apply as early as possible to ensure adequate consideration.

2.  The Spring Classic is an invitational tournament. The Spring Classic reserves the right to not accept any teams whose actions or   behavior are not deemed to be in the best interests of youth soccer.

3.  Notice of acceptance or rejection for team participation will be e-mailed to the applicant as soon as possible after receipt of the application.

4.   Entry fee will be returned to any team not accepted.

5.   Notice of acceptance will include registration procedures, hotel arrangements, entertainment and local transportation information.

6.    The entry fees will be forfeited if a team has been notified of invitation and subsequently withdraws. In the event that the tournament is cancelled, a refund of the entry fee (if any) or a portion of the entry fee (if any) will be determined by the Tournament Committee in conjunction with the Board of Directors of the Texas Longhorns Soccer Club.

7.   The selection committee will have the sole authority to determine all brackets within an age group.

8.   Transportation by all visiting teams to and from Dallas, Texas, USA shall be at the expense of the visiting teams. The Spring Classic will not be liable for any expenses incurred by a team if the tournament is canceled in whole or in part after invitations are issued.

9.   Teams are responsible for their own local room, board, ground transportation, entertainment costs and any medical treatment required.

10.  ALL OUT OF TOWN TEAMS, their families and fans are required to stay in officially designated Spring Classic hotels. Information will be available on the website and via email when the team is notified of their acceptance. No hotel reservations may be made without Confirmation of acceptance and must be made through Events By Design (aka EBD).

11.  Tournament hotel rates are not available to teams or parents unless each party is identified as a “Spring Classic” participant. A final list of all team, coach, manager and parent confirmation numbers will be required at registration on Thursday, April 21, 2011.  

12.   All teams and individuals participating in the Spring Classic agree that photographs, videos and other images taken on behalf of the Spring Classic (and Texas Longhorns Soccer Club) may be used for promotional purposes by the Spring Classic and/or the Texas Longhorns Soccer Club. Names of individual players will not be used.
